It is ready for the next adventure.
Overland is a term that has been used for more than a century. It usually refers to an off-road vehicle that provides living space for the people who use it. In the past few years, however, we have seen more off-road rigs designed with this purpose. It’s a lucrative market that some automakers are also capitalizing on.
There are many types of overlanding rigs. Anything can be converted into an overland vehicle, from small SUVs to repurposed ambulances. This retired military truck has been transformed into an off-road adventure vehicle. Although it was originally a MAN M1078A1, it now has all the amenities and comforts one would expect from an overland vehicle.
It looks utilitarian from the driver’s perspective. It was once a workhouse, not a hotel room. This rig comes with a Recaro power-adjustable seat for the driver. It also has lumbar support and adjustments. It would look great in the Dakar Rally’s exterior. It looks great with its sand-brown color, rollbars and driving lights.
The kitchen is the first thing you will see when you enter the living room. As soon as you enter the kitchen, the sink, microwave and refrigerator will be visible. The bathroom is located across the kitchen, with a heater. The bed can be made up for two and is air-conditioned. An inverter, a Tesla battery pack and a Honda generator keep all the electricals running.
It is an overland vehicle with four-wheel drive, big tires and good ground clearance. The Fox dampers help you get off-road. A six-cylinder turbodiesel keeps the whole thing moving. It should be able to run for many years with a 500-liter fuel tank.
The truck is available for sale at Markatplaats in the Netherlands. You can get it for 95,000 Euros (or 108,445.35 with current exchange rates).
