Would Honda consider this design?
Ah, the Honda S2000. The Honda roadster’s tail end, which dates back to the 1960s. It is the most powerful rival to the Mazda MX-5. Since the 2009 end of production, fans of the two-seater open-top have been asking for a replacement. Honda was not forthcoming with their requests until last year .
Behance artist Somak Biswas envisions the S2000’s return through a series fictive renderings for modern times.
Biswas first characterized the S2000’s revival as a challenge to the BMW Z4 or Porsche 718 Boxster. According to the latest rumor, the engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four pot mill.
Biswas’s S2000 design is reminiscent of the old model, with its long bonnet and sloping lines. However, it does follow the 2022 Honda Civic Prototype design language. This is primarily visible on the front intakes, lower grille and headlights. Biswas also imagined an aggressive S2000 Type R with a rear wing, skirts and red accents.
The S2000 is comprised of three elements. The Mood Bar is located on the dashboard. It combines soundbars, ambient lighting and air vents to stimulate the senses of sight, hearing, feeling and touch. For better visibility and reach, the infotainment system was designed to be adjustable. Biswas envisions that the center console will have a stepped design, a design that is inspired by Japanese pagodas.
Biswas’ vision for the S2000’s resurrection looks great, to be honest. The elements added to the renderings are well-thought out and give validity to the artist’s imagination. Do you think Honda should resurrect the S2000? We’d love to hear your comments in the comment section below.
