This Luxury Motorhome Can Float on Water

Imagine all the places that you could visit.

Do you dream of vacationing in a motorhome which is also a boat? This is a question that few of us have ever had the chance to ask. It is one we are certain John Giljam and Julie Giljam (founders of Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International) have asked because they offer Terra Wind RV. You can take a vacation on asphalt or the water with this camper.

It measures 12.9m (42.3 feet) in length and can cross rivers and lakes. CAMI recommends that it not be used at sea. However, it offers a level comparable to a yacht’s comfort.

Nothing can stop it

Terra Wind RV, a regular motorhome, can travel on the asphalt at speeds of up to 79 mph (128 km per hour). Although it won’t win any drag races, that’s still quite fast considering the fact that it weighs almost as much as a semi-truck. The engine is a Caterpillar 3126E turbodiesel engine producing 330 horsepower (246kilowatts).

The magic begins when the tarmac runs out. You can stop once you reach the shore of a lake. But that does not mean the journey is over. To stabilize the amphibious camper, you will need to take out the buoys. After the buoys are deployed, the engine should be restarted and the RV lowered into the water. The RV can travel at a speed of 8 knots (roughly 9 mph) and 14 kph. It’s slow. But with Terra Wind RV, the journey is what matters.

Jacuzzi Fun

There are many amenities that will make your journey enjoyable. You’ll find furniture that would look great in a living area, marble floors, a queen-size bed in back, leather upholstery and granite countertops. You can even enjoy the hot tub from the jacuzzi. You can also use the platform to sunbathe, dive, or dock two jet skis.

The price for unbridled luxury is high: EUR715,000 (or $850,000 at current exchange rates), to begin with. For the example shown in the video, it will cost over a million. It’s expensive, but you can save money on a boat. CAMI offers a variety of amphibious vehicles, from the coupe to the coach, to help you save money. You have the option to choose.
