This V8-powered Jet Ski has the Heart of a Muscle Car

Keep your fingers crossed!

Just about anything with a V8 engine is pretty interesting. Besides, who doesn’t want to hear its distinct burble? We’ve seen them in various vehicles, boats included. There are even some amusing V8-powered boats out there, namely from Lexus And, at one point Ferrari. You’ll have to be patient for this particular eight-cylinder vehicle.

A V8 engine managed to find its way into a jetski this time. Strand Craft provided this contraption. They call it the V8 Daytona GT and claim that it is the first V8-powered jetski. It is not yet photographed in real life, but this only adds to its curiosity.

Strand Craft is not unfamiliar with luxury marine vehicles. They are not new to the concept of creating wild ideas. They created two very exclusive yachts about a decade ago: the 166, and the 122. These multi-million dollar yachts were elegant hotels that floated on the ocean with a garage. The company’s jet ski is standard.

What are the facts? Under its sleek, modern skin, the V8 Daytona GT sports a 6.2-liter supercharged engine. Strand Craft did not mention any horsepower or torque figures but it is safe to assume that at least 600 horsepower (441 kilowatts), should be the minimum. What is the top speed? It’s not mentioned, but it is likely to be as fast as you can go. Strand Craft will offer a V8 turbodiesel option.

These are the basic features of the V8 Daytona GT. A storage box is located in the front. There are also an underseat cooler, battery switch and a premium sound system. A 15-inch touchscreen monitors all engine functions, and also includes the stereo interface. Wood inlays, teak deck, retractable tender-lifting rings, and an underwater camera are just a few of the options available. A shock-absorbing seat is an option, especially if your power means you are often in choppy waters.
