Both vans are compact and offer great functionality.
While Class-A RVs can be a great way to bring a little bit of home, they can also make it difficult to find a parking spot. Thor Motor Coach has just released two new Class A camper vans, Rize and Scope.
Both motorhomes were built on the RAM Promaster 1500XT platform. It has a 136 inch (3,454 millimeter) wheelbase. Both vehicles weigh in at 8,550 pounds (3.878 kilograms) with all the creature comforts. There are two floor plans available for each vehicle: one with a bathroom, the other without.
These camper vans, despite their different names, are basically the same package. Both the Scope and Rize can be ordered with the 18T and 18M floorplans.
The 18T layout eliminates the bathroom but it provides enough space to house a fully-equipped kitchen with a 2-burner gas stovetop, microwave and 12-volt electric fridge. A small stainless steel sink is also possible with the extra space. This sink is a great addition to any kitchen.
The 18M layout offers kitchen space in exchange for a wet bath with a combination RV shower-toilet. Because the lavatory has a cassette toilet, it is ideal for those who want to get off the grid. Thor’s Truma water heating system provides a hot shower for backcountry travelers.
The pop-top is one of the most popular party items for both cars. It can comfortably sleep two people. It’s an efficient way to increase sleeping space. However, when it’s not in use, it doubles up as storage. The Thor Motor Coach Rize and Scope are similar to similarly-shaped Class B motorhomes. They pack a lot of features and solutions in their compact footprints.
