Although the huge rear fin does not have an aero function, it looks amazing.
F12berlinetta is a thrilling car by itself, but Ferrari made it even better with the F12TRS which was inspired from the 1957 250 Testa Rossa. Maranello’s berlinetta was once again used as a donor car for a special retro-build, but this time it is the work of an Italian coachbuilder. Touring Superleggera reimagined the V12 powered grand tourer, incorporating influences from 1930s race cars.
The car’s styling goal was to avoid “jarring and heavily angular architecture” in favor of more sweeping harmonious curves.
Naturally aspirated powerhouse has 730 horsepower and 690 Nm (509Nm) and can run 0-60 mph (100 km/h), in just 3.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 211 mph (354 km/h). These numbers are similar to the F12 standard F12, but with a longer car measuring nearly 200mm (7.9 inches).
Touring Superleggera reports that they not only retained the frame chassis and running gear but also all other mechanical, electric, and electronic parts. The press release doesn’t mention the Ferrari F12berlinetta. However, the coachbuilder says that the Aero 3’s donor car is an “excellent Italian supercar.”
Only 15 cars will ever be converted. The Aero 3 is only available for purchase. It takes six months to deliver the final car.
