Toyota GR Corolla Could be Followed by a Wagon

Take a look at the parts bin of the GR Yaris.

A little-known fact is that petrolheads secretly adore a sports wagon. It’s similar to Taylor Swift’s one guilty pleasure song, a.k.a. Shake it Off is a song you can skip if you are in a car with others, but you can jam out at maximum volume by yourself. It seems that Toyota may be considering releasing a GRMN version its Corolla Touring.

We must mention, before we begin, that the Corolla Touring is not currently available in the United States. However, this shouldn’t detract from the vehicle’s capabilities or the possibility of a sportier version.

The translation is Gazoo Racing Meister of Nurburgring. The GR is a Japanese automaker’s racing DNA that has been infused into the vehicle. We can only speculate what upgrades the Corolla will receive.

Spyder7 states that the exterior will include a large-diameter, matrix grille for optimal cooling performance. Other mods that could be added to the front fascia include an under spoiler and rear spoiler as well as a rear diffuser and rear diffuser. We’d guess that the exterior modifications are purely cosmetic, but things could be quite different underneath the skin.

Under the hood, it will likely sport the same turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-three-cylinder engine from the GR Yaris. It’s an excellent thing. With 257 horsepower (192kilowatts), it’s the most powerful three cylinder engine ever installed on a production car. The new model will likely receive the GR Yaris AWD system.

The Corolla Touring GRMN will debut in September 2021. Let’s just wait to see what happens. We bet that the wagon will attract many enthusiasts who would love to take the wheel.
