Toyota Mirai Price Drops to $20,000

A FCEV is almost as affordable as a base Prius.

It is rare that a new model comes on the market that is more refined than the previous one, rides on a chassis taken from a premium sedan, and has a starting price that is lower. We don’t think that happens very often.

Although the Toyota Mirai is a rare breed, it is a new vehicle that was built using a chassis derived form the Lexus LS. The default price for the 2021 Mirai model is $9,050 less than the previous model, but the automaker now offers a generous incentive to potential buyers. Although the offer is limited, you can save as much as $20,000

CarsDirect received the latest Toyota dealer incentive bulletin. It includes the Mirai discount for customers who purchase the fuel-cell vehicle through financing at a promotional rate through Toyota Financial Services. In the publication, it is also reported that the sedan now offers zero-interest financing for 72 months. The Mirai is only sold in California by Toyota.

The California Clean Vehicle Rebate reduces the price of the car by $4,500. This brings the cost down to $25.995, or roughly half of its MSRP. CarsDirect shows that the starting price for a Toyota Prius in 2021 is $25,520.

Toyota offers a $15,000 fuel credit. Although it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Mirai’s cost will drop to $10,995, this is a great incentive for potential buyers.

Current discounts on Toyota, including the Mirai, expire March 31st.
