Toyota RAV4 celebrates 25 years with new paint and trim options

The range will be updated with a fresh paint job and a new SE Hybrid trim for 2022.

Happy birthday, Toyota RAV4. With the introduction of the 2022 model, the brand’s most popular crossover will be celebrating 25 years in America. Toyota will honor this occasion by introducing minor updates to the range like new paint and wheels options as well as a completely new hybrid trim level.

The RAV4 SE Hybrid will join the lineup in 2022. The SE Hybrid trim is a step lower than the XSE in price and features similar sporty elements. However, it does not have some of the creature comforts found on the XSE. The SE Hybrid comes standard with a monotone finish, fabric-trimmed seats and a touchscreen of 7.0 inches that can be used alongside six speakers.

There are two packages available for the SE Hybrid: Weather and Convenience. The Weather package includes a heated steering wheel and heated front seats as well as rain-sensing wipers. The Convenience package includes a moonroof and power-adjustable liftgate.

Cavalry Blue paint is one of the new features that are available on a few trims. It was borrowed from the Tacoma pickup or CamryTRD, and a few other vehicles. This new color is available as an option for the XSE, SE Hybrid and TRD Off-Road models. The Adventure, XLE and XLE Hybrid trims get new color options – most likely black and satin silver – while XLE Premium Hybrid (and Limited Hybrid) offer a completely new wheel design.
