Currently, the fastest Supra around Nurburgring.
If you’re a human being on the planet, then you probably know that there is a new generation Toyota Supra. Although it received mixed reviews from car enthusiasts, it managed to fetch $2.1million at a recent auction. It will be a while before we see the new-generation Supras in their full glory, so for now let’s keep it simple. The fourth generation Supra is considered by many to be the best sports car of all time.
This one is slightly special. The Supra started out as a twin-turbo auto variant, but now it is powered by a single turbo 3.0-liter straight-6 engine. This Supra’s stock power output has almost doubled. It currently produces approximately 720 horsepower (537kilowatts) and is sent to the rear wheels. This thing is going to try and kill you.
It can be very fast once you know how to drive it. It’s actually the fastest Supra to lap Nurburgring in 7:28 minutes. There’s even a clip of it passing a Radical at Green Hell. Although it may not be the most beautiful car, speed is what matters.
What is the lesson here? First, the old Supras, particularly Mark IV, are amazing. The 2JZ engine series has virtually no limits. If you tune it more aggressively, you could easily push this unit to the 720-hp (537 kW) mark. To control this wild animal, you will need to have certain skills behind the wheel. It is a demanding car to drive on the track, judging by its sound and how it moves straights. You can see more in the video.
