Toyota Yaris Cross Adventure Gets Rugged Upgrades

The sales will start in the first quarter of 2021.

The Toyota Yaris Cross first appeared almost a year ago. It has received a visual overhaul in the form the Gazoo racing treatment. The will not be a performance version but the automaker just added another model to its lineup. Meet the Yaris Cross Adventure.

The crossover’s most rugged trim level, the Adventure suffix, is different from the Elegant grade. It was shown at the model’s debut last spring. This trim was designed for life beyond urban streets. It is meant to be enjoyed in the great outdoors and on open roads.

The new front diffuser and rear bumper protection plate make the Adventure model easily identifiable visually. Silver roof rails are available as well as 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark grey finish. Toyota created an off-road-like interior with additional piano-black elements and a black headlining.

The limited Premiere Edition model will be available to further customize the Yaris Cross Adventure. The limited Premiere Edition model will be offered during the first 12 month of vehicle production. It features exclusive leather seat upholstery, 18-inch machined alloy wheels, a kick sensor, bi-color finish, and an electric boot lid.

There are no modifications to the exterior. The Yaris Cross Adventure will come with an AWD hybrid setup that combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. It’s not the most exciting vehicle, with 116 horsepower (87 Kilowatts), but Toyota claims this is enough to power the small crossover.

Toyota will accept pre-orders for all versions of the new Yaris Cross from the first weeks of the second quarter of 2021. The actual sales will start in September.
