This weekend, the Chicago Auto Show will feature a unique Subaru STI owned by Travis Pastrana, rally champion. The car features many custom-made parts that can be ordered from authorized Scooby dealers.
Travis Pastrana might consider moving to the WCF office couch. This man is often seen on these pages lately. He was just the other day seen riding a tricycle. He was just a few days away from winning the third consecutive Rally America National Championship.
This WRX STI inspired by Pastrana is being donated by the Japanese company. The tyre comes in brilliant yellow and has the number 199 on its livery. Super Sport A/S 275/35 ZR18 tyres have been replaced by Work Evolution XD-9 18×9 inch wheels coloured in custom satin noir. Brembo supplied the brakes, whose red calipers bear the STI logo.
This car is unique because it has a mix of STI parts as well as custom-made pieces. Subaru dealers can order parts such as the exhaust and interior fittings for fans of both the champ and STI.
Although the car’s 2.5-litre turbo engine is standard STI, it produces more power than the 305hp (254kW) units in the factory. A custom downpipe has been installed and the ECU has been modified. Installed is the 6-speed manual shifter with short throw.
ICE screams out as the doors open in the form of an Eclipse AVN 6620 navigation/DVD/CD/MP3 stereo system with a powerful amp, speakers, sub woofer and an Xbox console mounted under the front passenger seat.
Pastrana will be signing autographs at the Chicago Auto Show starting February 14. Pastrana will also be there with his car.
