Traxxas unveils Drag Slash RC Chevy Truck and Yes, It Pulls Wheelies

You will pay $499.

radio-controlled cars were once confined to two categories. There was off-road stuff, like buggies and trucks for jumping on everything. And there were also cars that could be driven in scale corners. There are many sub-categories that RC enthusiasts can specialize in these days. Traxxas has a new Chevy truck at 1:10 scale for drag racers.

The Drag Slash is here! It was purpose-built to be fast and straight. This Drag Slash is not your standard on-road RC car. It has fat tires and Traxxas adds all sorts of tech to it that you would find on a drag racer. The Drag Slash has a special gearbox that features metal gears and a fluid-filled four-gear differential. All of these are designed to deliver power to the ground. It also comes with a Velineon 3500kV brushless 10 turn motor that powers legitimate Mickey Thompson drag slicks at its back, although only one-tenth of their normal size. This is so cool!

It’s not easy to maintain a straight line with a powerful car, even if you are a part of the RC community. The Drag Slash has an adjustable stability management system that aids in traction. It can also be disabled at events that do not allow it. It also features a “trans brake” that overrides throttle settings. The Drag Slash will stay at the line if you press the trans brake button. The Drag Slash will launch with whatever power you apply at the trigger when you release the button.

The truck launches with enough force that the adjustable wheelie bars at the back are absolutely required, as the video above shows. It all depends on the surface, but we can see that the front wheels are lifted off the ground on this grippy tarmac. Traxxas does not mention speed but the suspension can be adjusted. The problem is time. It’s just like drag racing and it takes only a few seconds to finish.

The truck’s details are similar to the offroad RC trucks. It is inspired by a 1967 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck. The grille, bed, and cool headlights make it look amazing.

The Drag Slash, according to Traxxas, is now available in stores with a $499 price tag. This includes everything you need to race right out of the box. Before you can hit the track, you’ll need a charger, battery pack, and AA batteries.
