Tuner Shows Two-Door GMC SUV with Removable Roof Panel

Flat Out Motors will build it because GMC won’t make something similar.

Flat Out Autos has revealed that the next build will be a two-door GMC SUV with removable roof. This is similar to the Chevrolet K5 Blazer or GMC Jimmy. The vehicle is currently only available in the rendering by WB.Artist20.

Flat Out Autos’ first vehicle is a GMC Sierra regular cab. Despite the shorter wheelbase, it looks like it. If the original Jimmy had a removable rear cap, it would likely cover a bench seat.

Flat Out Autos claims that the vehicle will have a fold down tailgate. This is an additional element from the first-gen Jimmy.

Motor1.com reached Flat Out Autos to inquire about the price of these vehicles as well as a time frame for availability. We will update you when we hear back.

This vehicle is a classic example of what the company has done before, but it’s not uncommon for them to be retro-styled. For example, Flat Out Autos made a Chevrolet Tahoe look like a first-gen K5 Blazer for the 2021 SEMA Show. It was required to create new parts for the hood and grille, as well as taillights, front quarter panels, doors, chrome bumpers and tailgate.

Flat Out Autos offered the vehicle for sale on Bring A Trailer after the show. It was sold for $142,000

The company had previously converted Tahoes to look like the early Blazers. However, these vehicles were four-door and not two for the SEMA build. Flat Out Autos was able to convert these vehicles for $69,000, but the buyers needed to provide a 2015-2020 Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon to be used as a donor.

Chevrolet and GMC do not currently have a vehicle that can compete with the Jeep Wrangler, or Ford Bronco. Flat Out Autos’ project with the Ford Bronco would be a formidable challenger to them. But, there is no indication that this product will be available in showrooms. This gives the constructor a niche.
