The Corvette came in second.
Subaru suffered a difficult September 2021, as year-over-year sales fell 30 percent in comparison to September 2017. Subie attributed the downturn to the shortage of microchips worldwide. The brand can rejoice having two of its fastest-selling cars for the month.
The iSeeCars latest info shows that the Subaru Crosstrek is the fastest-selling vehicle in the country, with an average sales time of 7.8 days at dealers. Their average price was $29,230. The model is priced at $22,245 plus a $1,050 destination charge.
The Subaru Forester was third in September’s fastest sales. They sold the lot in an average time of 9.5 days. The average price was $32,778, with a base price at $25,195 plus a $1125 destination fee.
With an average time of 8.6 days at dealers, the Chevrolet Corvette was their vehicle that separated them. They sold on average for $92,366, significantly higher than their $60,900 base price (plus $1,295 destination).
Karl Brauer, iSeeCars executive analyst, stated that the microchip shortage has not resolved. Major automakers have halted production, leading to a lower and sometimes rare inventory.
According to the latest monthly study, an average new car lasts 24.6 days in showrooms. This is an improvement on August’s 26-day average car time at dealers.
Both the Crosstrek & Forester saw their sales decline year over year, which is odd. Subie sold 11,864 Crosstrek units, which was a 0.7 percent decrease from September last year. The Forester’s numbers dropped 27.4% to 11,366 vehicles.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup, which lasted just 8 days at dealers, was the fastest-selling vehicle in August. The Corvette came in second and lasted 8.3 days in showrooms, which is even faster than September.
