The current generation was introduced to the market in 2007.

The current-generation Hyundai Starex is now thirteen years old. The South Korean minivan has been known by many names, depending on where it is sold. However, Starex gave it a makeover in 2018, but it remains the same underneath.

The Starex is in dire need for major repairs. We are now reviewing its prototype using these images taken by our spy photographers. Even with the camouflage that the test vehicle was wearing, we can still see some details.
The new Hyundai people-mover appears to have a huge grille running from headlights to headlights. The third-generation Starex appears to be sporting a split-type headlamp – something that is common among Hyundai crossovers these day, such as the Tucson or Santa Fe.

It’s not surprising that the massive grille is still there. The only thing we noticed is that the front overhang was shorter than in previous minivan generations. A large number of windows allows for maximum visibility and creates a greenhouse. The body is still quite boxy to allow maximum cargo and cabin space.

Our spy team was able to see the Starex’s interior through the large windows. It features a floating infotainment system, a rearranged dashboard, and an air-conditioning vent layout.

These are the only details we could see from the spy photos. But, expect more as the next-generation Hyundai starex will be unveiled next year. Although details about the powertrain are still to be revealed, it is believed that a hybrid version of the new Hyundai Starex will be available in order to keep pace with current trends in electrification.
