It’s here. It’s just not clear how it will appear.
Just before Thanksgiving in the United States, the next-generation Ford Ranger was unveiled to a worldwide audience. Although the new mid-size truck will be available in 180 countries, not all will receive the Raptor hard-core off-road Raptor model. Here’s an example of what the Raptor version might look like for those who do not have one – which should include North America.
taste is the best word, since these are not official renderings. We frequently turn to KDesgn for future models. These Ranger renderings are excellent with all the details you would expect from a Raptor model. The most obvious difference is the prominent Ford branding in the grille. This has been a Raptor trademark ever since the first-generation F150 model was released in 2010. The front bumper has vents and the tip of the skid plate beneath is much more aggressive.
The rear features a more familiar Raptor design, with the blackout strip at the tailgate. The Ford branding is even bigger, and there’s a Raptor badge on its right side. These renderings show that the tires and wheels are virtually identical, and the ride height is almost the same. This is consistent with the previous Raptors as they were not high-rollers in this regard. However, a slightly wider stance might be appropriate.
It is already known that a new Ranger Raptor will soon be available. We know that the new Ranger Raptor will be released in February 2022. This should make it a 2023 model. Ford has released a sneaky teaser video that mentions the date. It includes an audio track of a gasoline engine revving. It sure sounds like a V6 with some turbo whistle. This is significant as the Ranger Raptor’s previous model used a boosted four cylinder diesel engine that produced 210 horsepower (157kilowatts) but didn’t ignite the performance world. The new Ford Explorer ST will likely have an EcoBoost V6.
February will arrive in a flash. These renderings are not official, but we won’t be long before we see the real deal.
