Uwe Gemballa’s Son Gets Ruf To Develop Engine For Porsche Project

One step closer to production is the project.

Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH was founded by Uwe Gemballa’s son. It will launch sometime in spring with a high-riding supercar. Although it has been teased several times, we are still waiting for the official unveiling. The company will have to wait for more information. However, it has already announced that it will partner with Ruf to develop the supercar’s high powered engine.

The details of the project remain secret. However, we do know that it is based on Porsche 911 Turbo S 992 Series. The Porsche 959 is the inspiration for the design, but it will be powered by a modern engine. Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH will be using the Turbo S’s twin turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-6 engine. Ruf will extract more power from it. It produces 640 horsepower (477 Kilowatts) as well as 590 pound-feet (801 Newton-meters), of torque. Ruf’s engine produces more than 750 horsepower (552 kW) as well as 604 pound feet (920 Nm).

The company claims that the engine still meets the latest EURO 6 emission regulations and WLTP testing, even though it has increased power. It also stated that all 10 launch edition models had been sold. There are only 30 remaining examples of this new car, which could be bought after the reveal in spring. The first series production of the new car is not expected to start until later in the year.

The supercar is in development for over two years and has kept us guessing. The company spent more than two years working on the supercar project, as well as forming new partnerships that would help it become a reality. Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH has partnered with KW Automotive and Michelin as well as VELA Performance and KLK Motorsport. We look forward to learning more over the coming weeks, months.
