Opel Calibra celebrated its 25th Anniversary recently and it seems that the automaker hasn’t forgotten the iconic coupe.
Vauxhall’s Managing Director Tim Tozer suggested that the company might eventually offer a new Calibra in a recent interview with Auto Express. He explained that “we need to walk before our bodies can run,” but it could happen when the new Insignia is launched.
Tozer also said that the next generation Astra will be lighter than the predecessor. Tozer declined to give details but said that the current model is 200 kg (441 lbs too heavy). He also dismissed the possibility of an electric version by saying that the car was not designed to be powered by a battery-electric motor.
