It comes with all the amenities of a G63, but has a truck bed at the back.
Although the Mercedes-Benz X–Class pickup was a failure, companies that converted the G-Class into a luxurious truck have remained a niche vehicle for those who can afford them. This walkaround of a 2022 Brabus XLP Pickup is based on AMG.
This vehicle could be viewed from the front and you might think it is a regular G Class with some modifications. The front bumper is modified with a brush guard, and a Warn winch. A roof rack is available with forward-facing LED lamps.
This is the area where you can really see the uniqueness of this G-Class. It is the pickup bed that makes it stand out from the flat rear section. The roof rack attaches at C-pillar and further back to provide some roll-over protection.
The pickup bed is quite small. The pickup bed is quite small. The exterior of the cab is equipped with a pair of 20-liter (5.83-gallon), gas cans. The hinged tailgate swings forward, unlike other pickups that tilt down.
Brabus has not provided any engine tuning for the truck. The G63’s twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine is still very powerful with 577 horsepower (430 Kilowatts) as well as 627 pound-feet (625 Newton-meters).
The interior is identical to the G63 except that there is an extra panel for the controls for extra lights and winches. The cabin of this performance-focused G-Class is stunning from the factory. You will find all the luxurious amenities you could need, including massaging seats and entertainment systems for the second row.
Brabus presented the XLP Adventure (gallery below) with an aggressive body kit, which included a hood and pair of nostrils. The engine’s output was increased to 588 kW (738 lb-ft) and 738 Lb (1,000 Nm). In the cargo bed, was a landing pad for drones.
After a brief look at the truck the action moves to the G-Class Experience Center. This location allows drivers to experience off-roading in controlled conditions and learn how to handle these rugged vehicles.
