VW Aero B EV Spied For First Time, Future Replacement For Passat

This is the VW electric sedan.

Volkswagen is focusing on electric vehicles and these spy shots give us a glimpse of the electric sedan it is currently developing. The Aero B model is expected to arrive in 2023.

The vehicle isn’t camouflaged beyond tape covering the grille, headlights and taillights. The judge will be impressed by the ID.3 And ID.4 Accent lighting will be found on the hood. It will cover the area between the main lamps. Although it would appear like a grille, a strip of black trim wouldn’t be an opening.

The black areas of the lower fascia that appear inlets are not inlets if you pay attention. These are just sections of painted paint. Because EVs do not require the same airflow as combustion engines, only the opening at the middle of the engine is required to cool the air.

The profile shows a flowing roofline, which appears to lead to the rear liftback. The flush handles are visible on the doors, while the styling along the flanks is minimalistic and unadorned.

The center taillight at the rear is a broad strip that runs along the upper part of the rear window. Although the trapezoidal sections of the lower fascia may evoke tailpipes but it is an EV.

The Aero B reportedly takes inspiration from the VW Space Vizzion concept. The Aero B could be available in a wagon version, as well as the sedan. It would replace the Passat in the brand’s lineup. Despite its smaller footprint, an EV could open up interior space that is comparable to the Phaeton.

The Aero B, like other EVs from VW, would be based on the MEB platform of the automaker. The base model will be rear-wheel driven, although a two-motor, all wheel-drive version is possible. A GTX version with performance-oriented features is possible.
