Watch 2018 BAC Mono Have Roofless Fun at The Autobahn

Test acceleration and top speed with the wind in your hair

There are many lightweight sports cars on the market, but the BAC Mono is one of them. It offers supercar performance with a roofless package.

Offered as a single-seater sports car for the road, the BAC Mono offers wind-through-your-hair fun, and what better place to put it on its paces than on an unrestricted portion of the Autobahn. YouTube’s AutoTopNL video captures the moment with a 2018 model-year Mono.

This is the old Mono. However, its performance in the video doesn’t seem to be too old.
The 2018 BAC Mono is powered a 2.5-liter Mountune engine with 305 horsepower (227 kilowatts), and 227 poundfeet (308 Newton meters) of torque. Although this particular model has its gearbox setup for Silverstone, it can still sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds. It can also reach 146 mph (235 km/h).

The BAC Mono was able to reach 145 mph (233 km/h) on the actual run. This was just a fraction of its official rating. This is impressive for a sports car that is three years old.

The BAC Mono has set a Goodwood Hill Climb record with veteran racer Anthony Reid as its helm. This beat the rest by more than a second and surpassed the previous record by 0.14 seconds.

BAC already released an updated version last year of the Mono. The new Mountune-developed engine of 2.3-liters makes 332 horsepower (248 kW) as well as 295 lb/ft (400 Nm). It can sprint to 60 mph (97 km/h), and reach a maximum speed of 170 miles (274 km/h).
