This could ruin your day.
There are many stories of treasure found in the hulls of sunken Viking ships off the coast Maine. These stories are a parody of the truth and a myth. Although they are exaggerated, there is some truth to these claims. DALLMYD YouTube channel with Jake Koehler focuses on finding underwater treasures that are more affordable – phones, sunglasses, GoPros, and even GoPros. Jake is seen helping to rescue a Ford Ranger from the water after Derek tried to load his kayak into the river.
The truck is submerged a few yards from the boat launch. The current appears to have moved the truck upriver. Jake was passing by and saw the vehicle submerged. He offered his assistance to the tow truck drivers who were trying to retrieve it. Jake, an “Angler”, Freediver and Scuba Diver, Surfer and Spearfisherman as well as Treasure Hunter and YouTuber, attaches hooks and tow cables so that they can pull the vehicle out of the river.
Jake climbs back into water as the truck is moving towards shore to park it, but the transmission will not move. Jake activates the parking brake instead. After the truck has reached shore, the owners open the doors and water pours out. Derek seems distraught and the truck appears to be a total loss.
We’ve seen many times when shiny new trucks have placed huge boats in different bodies of water, only for the truck to roll over with the boat. This was Derek’s beloved Ford Ranger and it was painful to see his Ranger being pulled out of the river. Jake created a GoFundMe to raise $10,000 so Derek could get a new truck. Within three days of the campaign’s launch, $8,470 has been donated towards the $10,000 goal.
Derek will hopefully find a happy ending to this nightmare. He wanted to go kayaking and lost his pickup truck.
