It’s back!
We are aware that the 11-foot-8 bridge is now higher than it was in 2011. The Gregson Street Overpass in Durham was raised to twelve feet four inches in 2019. However, this video by yovo68 on YouTube shows that it has not stopped ignorant drivers from smashing into it.
We mean clueless drivers and we are referring to them in every way. This is because the Gregson Street Overpass’s height is not just marked with multiple yellow signs. A huge yellow bar is located just ahead of it, which is designed to draw attention to the bridge and absorb any damage. A large digital sign is also posted on the bridge to warn motorists if they are overheight. These sensors trigger a traffic light and bring traffic to a halt. Crashing into the bridge can mean missing one, two, or three warnings. This also means is running a red light.
We still have the driver of the box truck, who failed to see the imminent crash four times. We don’t have much to say, as the video doesn’t show the crash in detail. However, we are amazed that the driver continues driving, leaving the cargo box’s roof on the street. We don’t know whether the driver stopped or returned to the scene. The video ends just a few seconds after it passes. The truck continues on the street for a few seconds as though nothing had happened.
The truck’s sign reads Little Solutions Logistics. This company is located approximately 85 miles east from Durham in Rocky Mount. It also revealed that the company handles general freight, and only one truck has one driver. So, the boss will not be mad that the truck is now destroyed. The crash was captured on camera. The most famous low bridge in the entire world.
Keep safe, folks. Keep safe out there, folks.
