A separate test is also done by the Tundra TRD Pro to show its flexibility.

Because neither the Nissan Titan nor Toyota Tacoma Pro is very proud of its straight-line performance, they are not trucks you would expect to see at a drag race. The Fast Lane Truck is a great example of how to get the pedal to the floor if you have them.

Toyota’s 5.7-liter V8 produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound feet of torque. It also has a six-speed automatic transmission. TRD Pro has a new exhaust system with a pair of black chrome tips. The pipes make the truck sound a lot more powerful than the Nissan’s raspier engine.

Under the hood, the Titan is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 that produces 390 horsepower and 394 pounds-feet torque. It is powered by a seven-speed manual transmission.

The similar specifications indicate that neither of these trucks can win on the drag strip. To reduce the impact of driver skill, hosts run two races and swap pickups in between races.

We can only speculate that the Nissan wins the first race by a narrow margin. The Titan appears to have an advantage due to the Titan’s extra gear. Although the truck has a slight advantage in the early stages, it is still only about half a length ahead at final.

The Tacoma TRD Pro is also subject to an articulation test. Half of the truck must drive up a 20-degree slope until the driver’s side rear tire is above the ground. This pickup is able to flex well and can beat other off-road-oriented models such as the Ram Rebel and the Nissan Titan Pro-4X.
