Watch the Drako GTE Do Tank Turn On A Frozen Lake

The EV can also take on a snow-covered track.

It’s spring, and it can be difficult to think of snow again. However, new videos show winter testing for Drako GTE. These clips show the electric sedan’s ability to withstand slippery roads.

Drako Motors put the GTE to the test by having it climb the Continental Divide at freezing temperatures, and so reach elevations of as high as 8,500ft. Andy Pilgrim, a racer, was given the task of taking the sedan to Steamboat Springs’ Winter Performance Track, Colorado to evaluate its handling in snow.

David Hackl, rally driver, got to drive the electric sedan on Georgetown Lake’s ice (video above). He was able to make some impressive drifts on the frozen water thanks to his studded tires. This is a stunning backdrop for high-speed motoring.

Drako GTE has four electric motors, one for each wheel. They produce a total of 1,200 horsepower (895 Kilowatts) as well as 6,491 pound feet (8,800 Newton meters). DriveOS software allows the company to adjust the power at each corner based on road conditions and driver inputs. This setup can turn 360 degrees by turning the right and left wheels in opposite directions.

According to the company, the sedan can reach speeds of 206 miles an hour (332 km per hour). Although there isn’t yet an acceleration time, an earlier video shows the car beating the Tesla Model S P100D during a drag race.

Although the GTE has a 90-kilowatt hour battery, Drako Motors isn’t making any claims about the sedan’s range. The GTE has an AC fast-charging system that charges the battery at 15 kW and a DC fast-charging system that charges it at 150 kW.

Drako Motors plans to start GTE deliveries this year. Each GTE is $1.25m each and only 25 are being made by the c company.
