This is the fourth tease from the British marque this Month.
Lotus continues to release teasers about its Type 132 SUV. This fourth video is part of a series of videos from the automaker that gives us a glimpse of the future.
Lotus’ latest video gives us a glimpse into its interior. The Awaken footage, which was released by Lotus, shows a huge infotainment screen bursting to life on top of a flat dashboard with contrast stitches. The brand’s black and yellow color scheme is evident in the footage, but we can expect some adjustments to the production unit upon launch.
Lotus already has released a few teasers for the upcoming SUV in November. The first teaser, Breathe showed what appeared to be active hexagon-shaped lower-grille shutters, which were situated above a carbon fiber front splitter. The second teaser announced the Type 132’s LIDAR system that will be “the eyes” of the car.
The third teaser Stretch hints at an active aero bodywork. It is particularly visible at the rear, where there is an active spoiler. According to the automaker, it will continue “a long tradition of Lotus pioneering active aero technologies, which dates back to legendary victories in Formula 1 and continues right up to the present with the ‘porous and aerodynamic’ design of the Evija Hypercar.”
Lotus is not giving any details on its Type 132 SUV. The Geely-owned automaker claimed that the Type 132 SUV would reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds. The company also offered a range of battery sizes from 92 to 120 kilowatt hours, and a “advanced 800-bolt high speed EV charging system.”
The Type 132 SUV will be the first of four new electric vehicles. The new platform will house the EV SUV.
