Volkswagen GTI Rabbit Edition, a limited-edition trim, is available for 2019.
Volkswagen is celebrating its history with the addition of the 2019 Golf GTI Rabbit Edition. The new trim pays tribute to , the original Volkswagen Golf, and Golf GTI that were originally sold in the United States under the Rabbit GTI and Rabbit GTI.
According to reports, the Golf GTI Rabbit Edition includes trim-specific details that make the Volkswagen hot-hatch seem a little more special than its regular counterpart. The major changes to this limited-edition model include black wheels, black mirror caps and a black rear spoiler. It will be available in four colors: blue, gray, white and black. Volkswagen includes special floor mats, seat decor and adaptive LED headlights in the Rabbit Edition. A proximity key with push button start and a proximity key are also included.
The GTI Rabbit Edition won’t offer more power than the standard Golf GTI. It currently uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 220-hp (164 kW) for its motivation. You can pair the engine with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. We expect the GTI Rabbit Edition will be available with both.
The pricing and on-sale dates for the 2019 GTI Rabbit Edition have not been revealed. We are certain Volkswagen will be able to move every Golf GTI Rabbit Edition produced, despite the production limit of 3000 units.
