Winnebago Unveils a Shorter, More Affordable Camper Van Called Solis

Although it is the cheapest Winnie, it still costs almost $100,000.

A new Winnebago is available. It’s small and easy to maneuver, but still has many features. The Solis Pocket is a four-season camper that uses the Ram ProMaster to build it. It has a full kitchen, two sleeping areas and surprising amounts of space. This is the most affordable Winnebago, but it still has a starting price $95,736.

Winnebago claims that inspiration for the Solis Pocket was derived from the do it yourself camper movement. These home-built machines often combine many amenities in clever packaging, while still allowing for enough space for hiking gear and bicycles. Winnebago created the Solis Pocket to accommodate three people and provide ample storage. The van’s rear can be extended to accommodate a Murphy bed for two people.

On the passenger side is the kitchen, which has a stainless steel sink, refrigerator and two-burner stove. There’s plenty of counter space. The table area on the driver’s side converts to more storage space. This also acts as the mounting point of the Murphy bed that extends above the counter and can be used for sleeping. The gate at the foot creates a storage area beneath the bed. It can also be deployed to secure items between the kitchen counter in the driver’s-side storage. The table area is covered by a cassette toilet, and both of the front seats can be repositioned rearward.

The Solis Pocket features a pair of 20-gallon tanks for fresh and gray water, and it carries a refillable/replaceable 20-pound LP tank. Two deep-cycle Group 21 batteries provide power and the roof can produce 170 watts of sunlight for off-grid living.

Winnebago believes the Solis Pocket will arrive in the fall 2021.
