You aren’t drunk. This is a 2009 Tacoma.
Motor1.com is proud to showcase all types of DIY project. It doesn’t matter if you want to upgrade the turbo engine or make the interior more comfortable. This little gem was discovered by Craigslist and brought to our attention from Jalopnik.
This is the living proof of how modifications to older cars are possible. This is a 2009 Toyota Tacoma that has been completely transformed to look just like the 2018 model. All components installed are OEM factory parts. This includes the bumper, bumper, hood scoop and LED headlights. These parts are from a 2018 Tacoma. The owner made custom doors to match the new design.
Two-door truck painted in Army Green color is an option for 2020 Tacoma. Exterior visual upgrades include hood graphics and decals on rear quarter panels. The interior includes a 2018 Tacoma infotainment unit with OEM GPS antenna, Bluetooth microphone, and a factory reverse camera. According to the owner, everything works as it should.
The 2.7-liter unmodified engine from the 2009 Tacoma is under the hood, mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. We don’t like the pickup’s 4×2 configuration. However, the current owner explained that he was looking for a non-4×4 model to get better gas mileage. It is estimated that it averages 19 MPG combined.
What is the estimated cost of the completed project? According to the seller, the listing is worth $17,900.
