The M2 Competition grille can also be purchased if you prefer it.
Let’s suppose you have a 2003-2010 BMW 5 Series (also known internally as the E60) in your garage. You’re tired of looking at the same vehicle every day. China’s Taobao online shopping site sells replacement front fascias for the 5er to make it look modern or Competition .
The M2 grille is more modest and sells at 1,800 Yuan ($275 at current exchange rate). The M5-inspired, big-mouthed piece costs 2,500 Yuan ($382). Both are unpainted and made of ABS plastic.
The seller’s photos show that the fitment is quite poor. Both designs have wide panel gaps between the fascia and the hood. This is evidently worse for the M2 design than the M5 one.
The parts are particularly striking because they reflect the timeless design of the BMW era. Although the E60 design file dates back to April 2022 19 years ago, it still looks like something an automaker could produce today. It can be easily replaced with a new bumper.
The E60 5 Series was produced from 2003 to 2010. Sales began in the USA for the model year 2004. Later, a station wagon was introduced. Later, a station wagon arrived.
The E60 generation M5 featured a 5.0-liter V10 motor that produced 500 horsepower (373kW) at 7,750 rpm. The European model came with a seven speed automated manual transmission. Americans had the option of a six-speed manual. Even though the M5 wagon was exclusive to Europe, both regions were able to enjoy it.
