YouTuber who terrorized nature with Ram TRX fined $53K

“I won’t soon be driving in a stream.”

YouTuber StreetSpeed 717 was first noticed last year, when he leapt over a Hummer using a Ford F-150 Raptor (the clip is no longer available). A few months later, he uploaded a Ram TRX video that went viral. It’s not available now. There’s a good reason.

We reported in March 2021 that the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission saw the performance truck and charged him for 18 counts. Two of these were for disturbing waterways and watersheds and six for polluting waters. As York Daily Report reported, Michael Hyssong was charged with 18 counts, including two for disturbing waterways and six for pollution of waters.

Hysong stated that he didn’t know it was illegal to drive in a creek. I love the outdoors. I love to hike, and have never littered in my entire life. I don’t like to degrade natural resources. I won’t soon be driving down a creek.

It is interesting to note that the footage that caught authorities’ attention was taken on a private farm. The Drive explained that all streams and rivers in Pennsylvania are public property. Also, the stream Doe Run Creek is a navigable waterway. This basically means that it’s illegal for anyone to harm it.

Hysong was called to court by Brian Perry on August 24, where he was represented. If you recognize his name, it is because he was the same lawyer who represented Bill Cosby in a appeal for a rape conviction. Hyssong is expected to join Pennsylvania’s ARD program in order to clear his record of the crimes. York Daily Record reports that he has already paid $53,000 in fines.
